The Boy and I went out yesterday, we shopped, had a hair cut and went to Petit Bot (picture) - an amazing little sandy beach amongst the rocky side of the island. We had lunch on the picnic tables, and there was a happy beach going family with a dog there as well. When we were almost finished, the family came back up off the beach. The man took one child and the dog, and got in the car. The woman, brought the other kid (about 4, maybe 5) and used the phone box near our table.
Duncan asked the boy where the black dog went, and the kid said, ‘Fuck off, mate. Don’t look at me.’
Duncan took the whole thing in stride and carried on with his chicken strip, but I was horrified. Great future generation raising there, Happy Beach Family. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
Here’s my little innocent, who was thrilled that the the cape used at the salon made him look like Harry Potter, and the little hard one that doesn’t want anything to do with him. It makes me worry about him starting school. I don’t want him to harden. I love his happy innocence.
One Response to “tell my kid to fuck off”

That is so sad that a pre-schooler would talk that way. Kids here are starting young too. I have two boys under the age of 8 and I worry about their innocence too. I don’t want them to change. They’re good kids and I will do my best to keep them that way.
