well, I’ll be damned.

Or bee damned. Ha.

I just got stung by a bee.

A bee. It stung me! This gardening business is dangerous.

I planted peas, hoping they would climb the posts of an arbor, on opposite sides of clematis. They didn’t. I noticed today that we’ve got peas! How exciting, but they are just in a thick lump near the ground, not quite getting the climb up the pole aspect I had envisioned. So, being the innovative gardener I am, I hammered some nails into the poles, showed the peas, and they will climb. The first post went brilliantly. The second post? Pissed the bees off apparently.

And I screamed, like a girl. I haven’t been stung in a long time. It’s surprising. And it hurts a lot.

There is a grey round nest in the clematis. Yellow jackets? Wasps? I don’t know. I’ve gone to get some spray, but frankly, I’m a little afraid of them and don’t really want to get close enough to spray them away.

We have a bee’s nest around here somewhere - not sure which kind, but it’s the painful kind. Chelsea got stung Friday - there was one on the couch that she climbed on and it stung her twice on her foot. Poor girl! She was shaking with the pain and cried for a good hour. Those things HURT like a mofo.

    Hiya Toryssa!

Yeah for peas! Boo for stings and wasps!

I hope you feel better! Take a high-powered hose and destroy the nest (gray thing), then doust it with Raid. LOL, works everytime.
