one hundred and seventeen dollars later

I am the proud new owner of a… scientific graphing calculator.

Calculators, scientific or not, should not cost a hundred bucks. And if they do, then they should not be the one required for a six week class called Math for the Non-science Major.

Lame.

OMG that is just outrageous! too much money for something like that, will you ever use it outside of class???

Um… no. But I’ve kept the packaging, and the receipt. Hopefully they’ll take it back as a return in a few weeks.

Is that wrong? Deceitful? Maybe if I don’t lie, “I just don’t need it…” then I can have a clear conscience about it.

If I spend $100 on a calculator it better satisfy a little more than my desire to accurately compute numbers.
