cooking, the lost art

Today was filled with domesticity. I made soup and lemon meringue pie for dessert. I was so excited about the pie, and had crust left over, so I made a banana creme pie, too. Also, egg drop soup (and sushi that I did not make) for an Asian themed lunch at work tomorrow.

I started a painting today, but it’s not finished. And baking? It’s an art form, right?

Lemon Meringue pie. I LOVE lemon meringue pie. I’d never made it before, in fact, just a couple of weeks ago I made my first pie ever. And this one, I’ve yet to try because some six hours later it still seems a bit jiggly. So, you know, it might not be the most successful pie ever made.

I am a pretty great baker, and even I can’t make a lemon pie. So I’m impressed! I’m making a White Russian pie for Thanksgiving. What could be better than liquor IN pie? Nothing, I tell you, nothing.
