I’m not actually dreaming of a white anything. I’m not the hugest fan of snow. It’s lovely if you have absolutely nothing in the world to do except drink hot chocolate and lounge around naked on a bear skin* rug in front of a wall sized roaring fire… but otherwise, no thanks.

I have been thinking about Christmas gifts, however.

I love home made gifts, not because they are cheap- because last year I found out that they are very much not cheap, but because the gesture warms me to the very core. I think, no I know, that I am always more thrilled than the receiver of my handmade wares. But, all the same, like it a lot.

Today, amidst searching for ideas, I came across this:

A knitted backgammon board. A knitted backgammon board! I barely know how to play, and only know one other person that does, but we can all be assured that this is going to be one of their gifts. Because, it’s a Knitted.Back.Gammon.Board!! And so fucking awesome I can hardly stand it.

Otherwise, I saw an ad for BLACK FRIDAY Walmart sales. Where they have super cheap toys. I hate Walmart at the best of times, so I’m not sure that I can stomach it at 5am with all the crazies. But, $80 for an electric ride-on pink VW bug for the little girl I babysit? Worth pondering, at least.

* A synthetic bear skin rug. Because being naked on a wild animal hide doesn’t sound the least warm and wonderful, it sounds skeevy and fleas-in-crevices dirty.
