wow

Yesterday I was pretty flippant about the whole flood thing. But, it turns out it’s a big deal.

I just drove around the town I live in, and my community, it’s underwater. I saw houses with water so high that I could just see the tops of garage doors. I saw rescue boats and helicopters bringing people from roof tops. Dikes are breaking, I-5 is covered in 10 feet of water. My friend’s family have water so high that only the roof of the car they left behind is showing. Luckily my house is dry, because there is no getting out of town.

Cities are without power, gas stations are out of gas for generators & without easy means of getting more gas to them (no roads, power lines in the water). Dead farm animals are on the sides of roads. Mudslides. Five people are dead. People are in their boats, walking on the freeway.

It’s insane.

I’ve always lived in a flood prone area. It’s very scary. I have a fear of being trapped and not being able to leave. Take care and be safe!

Wow, I am so glad you are safe!! I had no idea that you are living in the midst of that - it looked scary on tv, nevermind being in the middle of it. Those poor people :(

I live in a flood zone - it’s so terrible. This looks a hundred x’s worse though. I hope it goes down quick.. but the clean-up and aftermath is such a bitch. Stay safe. xo

Very glad to hear that all is alright with you. I was talking to my sister last night about the flooding (She lives in Bellevue, and her area seems to be fine but she’s lucky). I can’t imagine.

Get out! I love Plaza Jalisco! I often went there in high school just for their chips and salsa! My dad still lives in that area, as do many of my friends, and I had to make quick phone calls to them all to make sure they were OK. Luckily, they are all fine. My friends rental house has 6 feet of running water through it, but everyone made it out OK.
