Delicious!

I bought lamb chops yesterday. Not only had I never made them before, I’d never eaten them. With much googling, and emailing Carletta, this was dinner:

Marinated lamb chops (lemon juice, garlic, fresh rosemary and mint, lemon zest, olive oil), lemon roasted potatoes and minty mushy peas.

It was fantastic. I was pretty damned impressed with myself. That kind of self congratulation is surely the mark of a novice, as I am unused to making things that are fantastic. My cooking is experimental at best. My enthusiasm in the kitchen outweighs my talent by far. It’s usually either really good, or really not… but I never really know why it was either.

Duncan fished all afternoon and roasted hot-dogs by the river, so he wasn’t interested in all the goodness. Not even eating alone ruined the goodness.

As a CHEF, not just a cook, but a Chef, at HYATT for one(I don’t do that for a living now though…), and the fact i LOVE good lamb, I am VERY IMPRESSED with your dish. The colors, the plate layout VERY nice, very “earthy/upscale farmer’s wife” looking, and that’s a GREAT thing. The lamb looks DELISH, nice and juicy and PINK, not overcooked, the Crispy Roasted Potatoes? YUUUUUUUUUMYYYYYYY!!! The ‘bed’ of chicory, the ‘minty mushy peas’ is almost a ‘chutney’ sauce/side! A-1 Job!! I’ll be there at 7:30 with a nice ‘lively’ bottle of Gamay Beaujolais that’ll compliment that quite nicely…. you don’t mind cooking that again do you???? Really though, I want a bite of that!! If you ever have questions/need help in ‘Fun With Food’, please don’t hestiate to ask, I LOVE teaching/helping with ATF (All Things Food)!

I had some grilled lamb chops myself yesterday evening. Mine were a hell of a lot smaller than yours though. We must have some wimpy sheep here in Indiana. And, I forgot to bring back some proper mint sauce so I had to make do with American.

Lamb is my favorite meat. Ever!
I love doing a roasted leg of lamb in the oven with garlicky potatoes. Yum, yum.
Or, lamb kebobs on the grill in the summer with roasted red peppers sprinkled with French Feta & balsamic? A little olive oil.
    To die for.
