Today the topic of being left came up and there was some debate as to whether it would be better to be left for someone of the opposite sex, or of the same.
Personally, I think it would be much better to have my spouse leave me for someone of the same sex. Then I’d know that it wasn’t ME, but a bit of anatomy that turned them off. And really, divorce is pretty bad for the ego, even when you are the one leaving. I left my ex, and yet I still am slightly fixated on the fact that he’s now living with a hot 19-year-old. Who wants to be replaced by a younger, thinner, childless version of themselves? I’d much rather know that the reason we didn’t work out was because he had a secret hankering for cock. In fact, I think I might start telling people that’s why we aren’t together any more. It’s much more interesting than the truth.
But, I was heartily disagreed with. The biggest reason for disagreement was 1.) the possibility of disease - I tried very hard to explain that although Ex Sex is common (right?!) it’s not mandatory and 2.) how the children would react. And as for that, wouldn’t the answer of an uncommon sexuality be more tangible to young people than most of the other reasons for divorce?
I don’t know. It’s of little consequence, but if you could choose to be left for someone, would you choose a man or a woman?

If he left me, I’m like you, I prefer it be because he wanted a schlong instead me…But that isn’t going to happen, because my husband is definitely NOT a schlong kinda guy.
(sorry I am slightly amused with the word schlong, because I have received no less than 200 emails about increasing the size of my non-existent schlong since my ISP did upgrades two weeks ago.)
Umm, I don’t know about this here. It would bother me to think that my man was thinking about another guy (or girl) while he was screwing me. But I can see how it would be less devastating to be left for the opposite sex. You know what? If I was ever left (or left the man) and he found a young hot thing to mend his wounded heart - I would, seriously, take every opportunity available to terrorize the shit out of the girl. She would talk about my vengence for years. I’m just evil like that.
I’d want to be left for someone of his sex (so in my case I wish my (ex) husband was with a an instead of a fat ugly bitch)
see he is with her, she is 250 pounds, and 5 ft 3 (maybe??) so really I must have been horrid for him to leave me for *that* ??
Oh, I’m with you 100%. I would FAR rather he leave me for a man than a woman. I’d like to think that if he left me for a man maybe we could all still be friends. They would be like a 2 for 1 deal… right?
Yikes, I have no idea…
“I’d much rather know that the reason we didn’t work out was because he had a secret hankering for cock. In fact, I think I might start telling people………” HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I simultaneously love and loath the genius of the 9your!) thought process. My face hurts from smiling about that comment, although as a REAL man, I would be pretty pissed off if my EX started telling people that I’d left her for a GUY?!! (even if I HAD “traded her in” on a ‘new model’ with no junk in the proverbial trunk and ’sans enfant’…)- Although I WOULD BE a TOTAL scumfuck, jackstick, LOOOOOOOSAAAAAAA, and DESERVED to be treated as such, IF and only if, the child was mine. ( Is he the father of your son?) If the child wasn’t his, and it was just a case of wanting a new ‘young and tender’, well…I’d still be a jackstick, but it would also be an equal part of jealousy/self doubt/’dumped’ anger on your/her part….
This is a quote I have loved and use often, ever since I first read it 20 years ago…and I think it MOST apropo for this discussion: “I much prefer it when a woman leaves me, for then I know the mistake is hers” - Charles Bukowski ……or for you… “I much prefer it when a man leaves me, for then I know the mistake is his” - TORYSSA (credited to: Charles Bukowski)
