I just went to an urgent care clinic because my left eye has been hurting like fuck all weekend. It’s been really teary, red, felt like I had something in it. When it wasn’t better this morning I decided I should go in. I was a bit worried, but really, not that worried.

But now, I’m properly scared. He gave me a referral to a cataract place and said that if they couldn’t get me in first thing in the morning, then I am so go to the ER immediately. He mentioned fucking BLINDNESS.

There is some sort of lesion and/ or cloudiness on my left pupil, but he didn’t have the proper equipment to diagnose. I can’t even really remember what he said. I was pretty stuck on the permanent loss of sight bit. He mentioned steroids at one point I think. I asked him to write it all down, he just said to tell whoever I spoke to on the phone that I had a referral and need to be seen right. away.

Fucking lovely. That was obviously sarcastic, right? Because it’s not lovely. It’s scary, and it’s a pain in the ass. I am not only worried about things like loss of vision, but that I have really, REALLY shitty medical insurance and possibly having to take time off work. Time that I don’t have. And if it turns out to be something big… dude, I can’t afford big medical procedure copays. And deductibles. Yeah. Fucking lovely.
