There have been some fucking fantastic sunsets lately. I’m not usually the super oohey-and-aaahy type, but this one took my breath away. These pictures are completely unedited. Not even cropped.

Also amazing? The Kid started school today. He is a first grader. My son is a first grader! How did I get old enough to be the mother of a GRADE schooler?
That hair, it’s pretty amazing, too. He’s got BANGS, short bangs, and they’re not even fucking straight. I hate getting his haircut. It fills me with anxiety, and he never, EVER gets a good one. It’s ridiculous. It doesn’t matter how much I say to the person before they start, they always do whatever the fuck they want. Two days ago, he had lovely hair. Every time I vow to never cut it again. This time I mean it.

Those sunset shots are awesome. “The kid” looks adoreable. Kaiden starts second grade next Tuesday. Hooray for homework on school nights!

the pictures do no justice to the hues you enjoy in person… Mother Nature CONSTANTLY blows me away with this kind of stuff. We get some pretty killer sunsets and wicked sunrises(over Lake Michigan), and the MOON rises on the Lakes surface are, when the conditions are ‘just so’, are ASTOUNDING! (AWESOME isn’t strong enough of a word…) ==== The D-man is getting B-I-G!! Ahh, first grade…. many moons have crossed the sky since then …. (Mrs. Borst - some of us still REMEMBER our teachers names:) == T, buy a WAHL clipper set (’Yo Heart’ mine!) with a video, many different clipper combs, etc, and cut it for him… (then when it’s a “bad haircut” , at least you didn’t have to blow a bunch of extra cash on it!!) A woman with your mad skillz? I have supreme confidence in him keeping BOTH ears!! LOL!!
He already started? All the Seattle schools start on Sept. 3. I thought that was all Washington schools.
I’ve been having a crappy week, but thanks for all those pictures… They made me smile.

I remember in Chehalis we used to start before Labor Day, too. I always thought it was stupid to go for a day or two and then have 3 off. Did you know in Texas they start in the beginning of August. Lame-oh.
