The hair. Basically, my whole life is revolving around my poor hair cut lately… it’s insane. It makes me feel kind of butch. Because everyone knows that femininity if defined by long, shiny tresses, right? Perhaps it’s because I get this comment ALL THE TIME:
“I wish I could cut all my hair off, but [significant other] would HATE it!”
Um. What? Do I just happen to surround myself with women who have controlling fella’s, or is short hair intrinsically unattractive? Except to lesbians.
I was in the grocery store the other day and I made eye contact with a woman. I smiled because that’s what I do. I smile when I catch someone’s eye.
She blushed, giggled, lowered her eyes and then slowly looked back up at me, all coquettish and sly like, and smiled… and then proceeded to start a highly awkward conversation with me. She was FLIRTING, people. It was insane. I’ve never been picked up properly by a woman before. I mean, I’ve had my ass grabbed a couple of times and some suggestive comments, but this was real live, silly girl flirting.
I think maybe that this confirms my butch feelings… and also, how do men deal with the simpering female? That shit would get old. Quick.

I totally cut off all my hair and I love it. It is so easy to care for. I dont think that mine looks butch.

Personally , I love women with long hair. I like to brush it for her, and there is SOMETHING SPECIAL about a womans hair (Auburn hair gets triple points)flowing across her shoulders, and with the sun behind her so it ‘lights’ up her hair …. (bites lip…hard….) == Besides if it’s cut short, there are no ‘reins’ to play ‘pony’ with :( …:O :P === OH WOW! I just went back to look at your before/after haircut pix (I missed a few post ,incl. taht one…), ummm it’s a good thing you have a GREAT sense of humor!! You still have that mischeivous glint in your eye, and THAT TRUMPS your shortened hair! Hey, I think it’s cute, just a big change, and while you were looking PRETTY SMOKIN’ with the pre-cut hair, you of all people should know, Beautiful Long Hair does not a personality make…and nor does ‘butch’ cuts make one a lesbian. I don’t think you look butch at all. I personally think your hair is cute, and wish mine would look like that. But mine is full on curly and with this stupid Pac NW weather, I would look like a fuzz ball in 5 minutes flat.
I don’t know what the deal is with men and long hair. I love my short hair and I rock the hell out of it. And I don’t feel the least bit unfeminine. I am a girly girl. I wear makeup, jewelry, dresses and heels on a daily basis. That lesbian chick picked up on your short-hair inspired sexy vibes and took a chance.
Women who make comments like “I would cut mine off but…” are haters. Plain and simple. They a re jealous because they can’t pull it off.
