“If life is choices we make, as my mother once told me, then too much of life is spent bemoaning these choices. Too much time is wasted on regret. We can do nothing with the past but acknowledge and accept it. It is over. Done with. It is gone.”
This isn’t so much the sort of book that I would usually think is great, but I have to say that it is because it evoked great emotion in me. It made me sad, happy, indignant, hopeful, even amazed.
I wasn’t especially fond of the characters, but even so, I felt them.
