Again with the readable.

Her characters are entirely likeable.  So very chick-lit,  but I’m all right with it.

This part made me giggle to no end, yet it wasn’t really a part of the story.  At all.

“She researched bizarre head injuries at work, including a true story
of a woman who had gotten mangled by a bear on a camping trip.  She learned that if a bear was chasing you, you should not run up a tree, because the bear will go up after you.  You should not make eye contact with the bear.  Months after the incident, after undergoing multiple surgeries and painful treatments, the woman’s husband, who also had been mangled by the bear, actually wanted to go camping again, facing his fears.  The couple got a divorce.”

It was suitably quirky, fast and entertaining.
