I really like epistolary novels, and this was no exception. Style wise, at least, I like this sort of thing. This is the first one that I’ve read, though, that only one side of the correspondence was shown, the rest just assumed or mentioned in responses. At the beginning of the novel, before I accepted that I was never going to be privy to a response, this seriously annoyed me. I did get over it, but I never liked it.
Overall, though, I thought the story was sweet. I found the characters surprisingly well developed for never being given a voice, easily identifiable and likable.
