I liked the characters enough that I didn’t mind their silly antics and predictable plot.
I’m always a little turned off by the idea of sci-fi… I want to like it, I’m just pretty sure I won’t. So I’ve never given it a proper chance.
So, books like this, where there is a science fiction element, without the characters being too far fetched 4 legged aliens… it’s a good compromise.
